The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) allows Australian employers to nominate qualified foreign employees to work in Australia on Temporary or Permanent via.

The temporary Visa is currently called Temporary skilled shortage visa which lets an employer sponsor a suitably skilled worker to fill a position they can’t find a suitably skilled Australian to fill.

The TSS visa is a temporary visa which permits the holder to live in Australia, while working full-time for the sponsoring employer, in the nominated position. Applicants for a TSS visa may include dependent family members in their application.

This visa provides 3 main alternatives: Short Term Stream, Medium Term Stream and Labour Agreement Stream. Holders of this visa may be employed for a period of up to four years and may bring any eligible family members, including same-sex partners, who have unrestricted work and study rights in Australia.

Employees must also meet minimum levels of skill, qualifications and English language requirements in addition to character and health requirements. Some trades occupations and passport holders from certain countries may be required to do a skills assessment.

Temporary skilled shortage visa holders may apply for a permanent resident visa after 3 years working with current employer with a view to permanently settle in Australia and become Australian citizens (subject to meeting the requirement of citizenship).

Under employer nomination visa, firstly employer need to apply for Standard Business sponsorship, when it is approved, then need to nominate employee for the position and on the basis of approval of nomination, Visa applicant lodge visa application. Sometimes all process can be done at the same time.
